Kentucky coach Mark Stoops spoke about former Rutgers quarterback Gavin Wimsatt at SEC Media Days.

Stoops said that the pitch to Wimsatt, who transferred from the Scarlet Knights to the Wildcats in May, was “an opportunity to come in and compete.” He is facing an uphill battle to surpass Brock Vandagriff, a former five-star prospect who transferred to Kentucky from Georgia in December, but Wimsatt still has two years of eligibility remaining.
