Insidious: Red Door reveals that the franchise’s main couple, Josh and Renai, got divorced in the last ten years, but why did the split happen?
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Ten years after Insidious 2, a new installment in the franchise, Insidious: Red Door reintroduces the Lambert Family to audiences, but this time around, the family is vastly different, including the fact that parents Josh and Renai have gotten a divorce, but why exactly did this happen? Insidious: Red Door is the third and most recent film in the iconic horror franchise, Insidious.
When the Insidious movie timeline first began in 2010, Josh and Renai were key components to the horror story. In particular, Renai became hyperfocused on the creepy happenings inside her house, while Josh was discovered to be the key to everything, as his own astral projection was the reason why Dalton could astral project.
Despite the fact that Josh's actions in Insidious 2 are not his fault, there are still major problems with the events of the film. First and foremost, Josh's possession has a significant impact on the children. Renai might have been fully aware that Josh was not her husband, but their children were not capable of understanding this to its fullest extent. Therefore, when Josh tried to kill them, the children likely only saw their father, not the demon inside of him.
Will Josh & Renai Get Back Together In Insidious: The Red Door's Sequel? Despite the trauma inflicted during Insidious 2 and Josh and Renai's divorce in Insidious: Red Door, there is still hope for them. In Red Door, it seems as though Josh has been iced out from his family. However, as Dalton gets sucked back into The Further, Josh makes it clear that he will do anything for his son, and he saves him once again. Thus, the Lamberts warm up to Josh again.
