The Premier League champions have been busy in the market, having brought in a few players and letting others go.The side has seen the departures of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, who joined Arsenal and Chelsea, respectively, while shot-stopper Zack Steffen has joined English second-tier outfitIn terms of arrivals, the club has brought in two strikers, a back-up goalkeeper, and midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The England international joined the Citizens from Leeds United earlier this month on a six-year contract for a basic fee of £42 million , plus a potential further £3 million in add-ons. The deep-lying midfielder has now revealed that while there was genuine interest from the Red Devils – who are one of Leeds' biggest rivals – for his services, he would never agree to play for the side.
"Going to United? There was never any chance of me going there. You know my loyalty to Leeds. My family are all Leeds fans," the 26-year-old said, per the"I was honoured by United wanting me, one of the biggest teams in the world, but, no, I had to stay loyal to Leeds and go to the other side of Manchester.
"It's just the way I am. I want to be loyal to the people who have given me the biggest opportunity in the world."
