'Truthfully, I don’t really dress up for Zoom meetings, or really anything anymore.' Here's how one Vogue editor sticks to key wardrobe essentials for a week of WFH.
I wear the same thing everyday: A rotation of a few boring tank tops, and a pair of men’s boxers on the bottom. If I venture out, it’s Wrangler jeans. Yes, I know this minimal effort mode is bad for the psyche, I’ve written aon it! That’s not to say I haven’t attempted to dress up for some big meetings here or there. I do! On a good day, I will put on some colorful shirt before quickly removing it right after.
In truth, I do find this whole WFH concept to be fun. The time I’ve had alone in my apartment has been a tabula rasa for my wardrobe, a moment to really figure out what I like and what I don’t like. Plus, this project in particular has allowed me to think outside the box. To break the WFH slump, I’ve been wearing a lot of pants, trading boxers for jeans or vintage python-print trousers.
I filmed myself in the two places that I work from the most, which is my bed, and my fire escape where I have a folding chair and an umbrella. Though I almost fell off of the metal stairs that go three floors up while trying to nail my emergence moment, I think this whole thing turned out pretty well.Rise and shine to everyone’s most detested day of the week, Monday! I’m going all in and numbing my entrance into this Sisyphean universe by wearing a print Gucci shirt that I got off The RealReal.
