The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes producer Nina Jacobson teases that the upcoming prequel will feel quite different from the Jennifer Lawrence-starring entries in the franchise. Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on a book of the same name by author Suzanne Collins, the upcoming prequel film is set 64 years before the events of the first Hunger Games movie.
“[The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes] doesn’t feel like it’s trying to duplicate the past films. It’s a new story, with new ground and new characters. We were able to create a completely different visual language… one that is still recognizably Panem, but also different and fresh.”
