The release of West Side Story in 2021 and 2022's critical favorite The Fabelmans knocked two more genres off of the unconquered list: musicals and autobiographical dramas.

His penchant for wide, panoramic shots hearkens back to The Searchers and Sergio Leone's use of the shot in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly's final gunfight.
