Gremlins: The Wild Batch is finally here, and season 2 of Max's hit Gremlins show makes one major change to the location of the first season. Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai brought the Gremlins franchise to the world of animation, creating an all-new prequel story centered on Gizmo and a new batch of characters.

The cast of Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is back for another advenutre, although Gremlins: The Wild Batch takes them to a brand new location. Despite its new title, Gremlins: The Wild Batch picks up right where Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai left off, with Sam and Elle having just saved Shanghai from a Gremlin invasion. However, the Gremlin threat isn't over yet, as the evil Mogwai and other magical foes have begun to cause trouble again, and only Sam, Elle, and Gizmo can stop it. Gremlins: The Wild Batch Sees Sam & Elle Chase The Villain Of Season 1 To San Francisco The Duo Has To Leave Shanghai Close Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai took place in 1920s Shanghai, with the series focusing on the exciting new location that hadn't previously been seen in a Gremlins movie. However, Gremlins: The Wild Batch is changing things, with the premiere episode seeing Sam and Elle realize that they have to head to the United States. Luckily, they manage to pull this off, with most of the season taking place in San Francisco. Related Gremlins 3: Will It Happen? Everything We Know In an era of blockbuster legacy sequels from the '80s, the Gremlins franchise has continued to be in high demand, but will Gremlins 3 ever happen? The reason that they have to travel to San Francisco is that the antagonist from the first season, Noggin, has stowed away on a ship headed to the California city. The villainous Gremlin is undoubtedly going to cause some more trouble while overseas, with Elle and Sam rightuflly fearing that another Gremlin rampage will occur. Thus, the duo decides to head to the United States, enlist some new friends, and stop Noggin once and for all . How Gremlins' Location Switch Changes The Show New Characters And A New Villain Plan Close Moving the setting of Max's animated Gremlins series to San Francisco has had a massive effect on the series, changing the types of story it can tell. Firstly, an entire episode revolves around San Francisco's Alcatraz prison, with Sam and Elle befriending a prisoner before discovering that the prison is run by undead guards. Simu Liu's Chang, the prisoner that they meet, then becomes a main cast member in Gremlins: The Wild Batch, acting as their guide through the city and country. Related Gremlins’ Mortality Reveal Completely Changes The Movies’ Stakes Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwais reveals the mortality of the creatures, and it seriously changes the stakes of the original film series. On top of that, Noggin's villainous plan centers on San Francisco's Chinatown, with him having overtaken the location's criminal underworld by the time that Sam and Elle have arrived. The episodes feature flashbacks showing how Noggin managed to pull this off, setting him up as a powerful antagonist in Gremlins: The Wild Batch.
