The Pittsburgh Steelers used a right tackle rotation against the Denver Broncos in an odd move.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin explained that it was all related to Fautanu, who missed a month with an MCL sprain. Playing in the altitude in Denver, Tomlin was worried about the level of conditioning that Fautanu had heading into the game, so the plan was to ease him in by playing Jones.
If the rotation could return at some point, Tomlin did not shy away from the idea. For one, he plans to give Jones a chance to rebound from a poor performance. More than that, Tomlin is not going to abandon a rotation if he believes in all the players’ capabilities to play well.
