“I keep thinking in my head that we all need a mom. I’ve been thinking that we all need a tremendous hug in the world right now,” Barrymore told Harris. “But in our country, we need you to be Momala of the country.” The crowd, all women for the first time in the show’s history, burst into applause. Harris seemed to be holding in one of her signature laughs, but perhaps I’m projecting.
“I love Disney, however, Disney kind of messed that up for a lot of us over the years,” Harris said. “You know, the evil stepparent.” So instead, they call her Momala. It’s a cutesy family name that also makes Harris seem more relatable to the electorate. Kind of like how we know that Joe Biden’s grandchildren call him Pop.
