Raikes transferred to Auburn in April after initially transferring from Texas A&M to USC in January
It’s an idea that would have sounded unheard of before the age of the transfer portal, but it’s the reality for Auburn defensive lineman Isaiah Raikes.
It didn’t take long for him to reconsider that decision, though, as Raikes re-entered the portal on April 12. “I knew the whole playbook, to be honest, coming in,” Raikes said. “I’ve just been fine tuning things. Really confident with the calls and what he expects out of it.” Auburn has the luxury of depth on its interior defensive line. Head coach Hugh Freeze has made it clear that he wants to rotate heavily on the interior, but there’s still room for someone to separate and become the face.
