Actress Whoopi Goldberg took to The View to warn fans about fraudulent weight-loss advertisements using her AI-generated likeness. She stressed the importance of being cautious about online ads and emphasized that she doesn't endorse any products unless she explicitly states it.
Actress Whoopi Goldberg took aim at those using her AI-generated likeness to sell products online during Wednesday's live episode of The View, deviating from the planned commercial break to issue a warning. 'I'm giving everybody a heads-up. There's a phony weight-loss ad floating around online on Instagram that has me, AI-mouthed, saying all kinds of stuff,' Goldberg stated, staring directly into the camera.
The 69-year-old emphasized to fans that she doesn't 'sell anything' and not to trust any ad unless she says, ''Hey, it's me, Whoopi'' first. 'They have me selling bad weight-loss drugs. Do not indulge in this, do not look at this, just get rid of it. I don't know what it is, I had nothing to do with it, and I don't want y'all thinking that this is coming for me,' she said, reminding viewers that she publicly discussed losing weight using the drug Mounjaro. 'But, this stuff, I don't know who these people are. That's the problem with AI. You don't know who made it, but I'm telling you it's a lot of BS. Don't fall for it!'Goldberg also addressed another recent incident involving a magazine critic who wrote about her appearance in a film. 'There was a young lady who writes for one of the magazines, and she was distracted by my fat suit, in her review,' Goldberg said on the episode about a portion of the critic's review that was subsequently deleted from the original piece. 'I don't really care how you felt about the movie, but you should know that was not a fat suit, that was me.... I assume you don't watch the show, or you would know that was not a fat suit.
