Wholesale inflation drops in June on lower commodity prices FMTNews FMTBusiness
PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s producer price index fell by 2.5% year-on-year for the first half of 2023 , according to the statistics department.
On a monthly basis, the PPI dropped 0.3% month-on-month , improving 0.1 percentage point compared to May . The second-largest inflation decline was observed in the mining sector, which fell by 16.6% y-o-y in June .Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector’s PPI was down 1.8% y-o-y, with the manufacture of food products index falling by 9.9%.
