Here's how Rece Davis recommends Nick Saban approach his Alabama-Georgia pick on College Gameday.
coach, now an analyst on ESPN’s College Gameday, can pick the Crimson Tide he coached for 17 seasons to win, or he can take Georgia, which was favored to open the week.
“I don’t ever ask that because he should just pick who he thinks is going to win,” Davis said. “I know that sounds cliche and trite, but I really think that’s important for all of our analysts. If he were just going for the response of the crowd, he’d pick Alabama. If he’s going for the big overall ‘I’m gonna call this like I see it,’ even if he doesn’t think that, picking Georgia would be the way to go. So you can’t win on that either way, so you might as well just say what you think.
Alabama and Georgia are scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be aired on ABC.
