Those three consecutive victories mean the only side Gatland’s men are yet to face in this World Cup group stage is Georgia, with that fixture set for Saturday 7 October at 2pm BST.
The Georgians fell to Australia in their opening game before drawing with Portugal, meaning save for an unlikely victory over Fiji next weekend, they will go into their match against Wales searching for a first win at this World Cup. On current evidence, however, they are unlikely to find much success against this Welsh side, who now have an extra week of rest before looking to seal top spot in Pool C with a victory over their winless opponents in Nantes.Should they win against Georgia and emerge as Pool C victors, Wales’ quarter-final fixture would take place a week later, against the runners-up from Pool D at the Stade de Marseille on 14 October.
