Joseph Baena, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mildred Beana, has followed in his dad's bodybuilding footsteps
The bodybuilder became a notable name because of his famous father, but Joseph continued his rise to fame with an appearance on the 2022 season of Dancing With the Stars. Joseph partnered with Daniella Karagach and finished the season in fifth place.
Like his father, Joseph has a passion for bodybuilding. Joseph won his first-ever bodybuilding competition in March 2026. He took home wins in the Men’s Open Body Heavy Weight Class, Men’s Classic Physique True Novice and Men’s Class Physique Novice categories at the NPC Natural Colorado State competition. Joseph previously told Men's Health that he and his father connected over their shared interest in fitness. 'Even though I could call him anytime, I was too proud,' the Los Angeles resident explained in February 2022. 'My dad is old school, he doesn't believe in handouts. He believes hard work pays off, and so do I. I love the word honor, and I'm very prideful in the sense that if I use my dad's contacts or ask him for favors, I wonder what honor is that gonna bring me?' He added, 'I don't have to do what my dad did. I don't have to get into acting or bodybuilding. I'm very motivated and driven. I'm happy about my relationship with my dad.' Arnold is also the father of Katherine Schwarzenegger, Christina Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Christopher Schwarzenegger, whom he shares with ex-wife Maria Shriver. The actor revealed years later that he and Mildred welcomed Joseph days after Christopher was born in 1997, confirming that he had an affair.Best known for being a bodybuilder, Joseph is also a realtor. He celebrated a big deal in March, writing via Instagram, 'SOLD!!! Congratulations to my clients for trusting myself and @aria_properties to sell their beautiful Santa Monica Property!🍾🎉🎊.'Earlier this year, the weightlifter confessed that he was 'nervous' to bond with the Terminator actor. 'My relationship with my dad, it took a little while for me and him to get really close and just like I can joke around with him and talk about anything,' he said on the 'Unwaxed' podcast in January. 'Now it's awesome. I'm so close to my dad, and we joke about everything.'The former governor's affair with Mildred, then his family's housekeeper, came to light in May 2011. At the time, Arnold confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that he had fathered a son with Mildred 14 years prior.Like his dad, the California native has flexed his acting muscles on the big screen. Joseph stars alongside John Malkovich and Shane West in the sci-fi comedy Chariot, which premiered in 2022.Yes, he and partner Karagach made it to the show's final five before getting eliminated from the competition.
