A Whitehall woman is now in the Franklin County Jail with child endangerment charges after the death of a 9-month-old.
Charity Dreyer, 21, is facing charges after Whitehall police were called to a home Monday night to investigate a report of a child not breathing.with wounds that were not consistent with an accident.The 2-year-old girl has been removed from the home and placed with children's services, police said. Charging documents said, "the parent did abuse or torture the child which resulted in serious physical harm."
Dreyer is currently charged with child endangerment in connection with the 2-year-old's injuries. Police continue to investigate the death of the 9-month-old child.Police said Dreyer and her children had been staying with someone at the Whitehall address where officers were called. Dreyer has a criminal record that goes back several years and is currently on probation for several charges, including theft and attempted receiving stolen property dating back to 2022.
