White House won't say if President JoeBiden is 'worried' about potential charges for Hunter
Jean-Pierre and her predecessor, Jen Psaki, both routinely refer all questions about the younger Biden's business dealings and the IRS investigation into his taxes to the Department of Justice. Jean-Pierre employed that same strategy Friday while gaggling with reporters traveling with the president to Hagerstown, Maryland.
"So really quickly, as you know, this is an ongoing investigation that is being handled independently by the Department of Justice," Jean-Pierre responded."I would refer you to the Department of Justice." The Washington Post reported Thursday that the FBI had gathered enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden with tax fraud and lying in relation to the purchase of a handgun, though U.S. Attorney David Weiss, the Delaware official overseeing the investigation, has not yet decided to move forward or not with charges.
Chris Clark, the younger Biden's attorney, responded to Thursday's report by calling for an investigation into the leaks. “It is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a grand jury investigation such as this one,” the attorney said."Any agent you cite as a source in your article apparently has committed such a felony.
