Breaking: The U.S. has formally withdrawn from the World Health Organization, a White House official said, after President Trump said he would do so over what he described as its pro-China bias
The notice was sent to the United Nations secretary-general, the official said. The withdrawal is effective July 6, 2021. U.S. President Donald Trump said in May he would withdraw from the U.N. agency over what he described as its pro-China.
