White House attacks GOPLeader Kevin McCarthy's plans ahead of midterm elections
The White House has lashed out at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's"Commitment to America" as a tax giveaway that shows Republicans do not stand for the people.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sharply criticized the proposal when asked about it during Thursday's press briefing. Jean-Pierre said that House Republicans want to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, which would mean increased drug prices for consumers. She also attacked the GOP as wanting to put Social Security on the chopping block every five years.
McCarthy's document lays out plans to unravel the Democrats' sweeping reconciliation bill, address inflation and supply chain problems, establish"safe and fair elections," fight for Second Amendment rights,"confront Big Tech," pass a"parents' Bill of Rights," secure the southern border, fund the police, and combat threats from China.
