Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino in Primm, Nevada has closed its doors indefinitely. The company cited plans for investments in its other properties as the reason for the closure.

An iconic landmark attraction familiar to those on the drive between Southern California and Las Vegas has closed. Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino in Primm , Nevada has shut its doors - and it's unclear if the roadside landmark located 25 minutes south of Vegas on the 15 Freeway will reopen. Visitors to Whiskey Pete's website are redirected to sister property Buffalo Bill's when looking for hotel accommodations.

Affinity Interactive, which owns Whiskey Pete's in addition to Primm Valley Resort and Buffalo Bill's, released a statement saying the company has 'temporarily closed Whiskey Pete’s Casino in order to feature new and ongoing investments' at its other two resorts. Butera said the 'realigning of Primm Valley Resorts' is part of their effort to develop 'amenities that will better fit our new and current customers.' The castle-inspired hotel and casino nestled on the California-Nevada border opened in 1977. It boasted a 46,000-square-foot casino with more than 300 slots and electronic table games as well as a William Hill sports and race book. The hotel consisted of two towers with over 1,200 rooms and suites, a Buffalo-shaped swimming pool, and several restaurants
