Actress Patricia Heaton encourages mezuzahs for non-Jews as a sign of solidarity.
A mezuzah hangs on a doorway at the Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple. A mezuzah is a piece of parchment inscribed with specific Hebrew verses from the Torah, which Jewish followers fix to the doorposts of their homes.The actress Patricia Heaton, a Christian famous for her TV role in “Everybody Loves Raymond,” has put a mezuzah on her door to show her solidarity with Jews and the State of Israel since the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack and kidnappings.
“We’re welcoming and encouraging Christians and others who aren’t Jewish to consider placing a solidarity mezuzah on their doors,” Friedman said. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the strikes were in retaliation for Israel killing leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas. MyZuzah, which has put 18,000 mezuzahs in 74 countries, has a web site that provides mezuzahs free to Jews and now sells the solidarity mezuzahs for $18.
