The Carolina Panthers have released quarterback Cam Newton, and sports books have released betting odds for which team will sign him before the 2020-21 NFL season starts.
The former No. 1 overall draft pick spent nine years with the Panthers but was let go with just one year remaining on his contract. Just a few days ago, the Panthers signed former New Orleans Saints' backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, paving the way for Newton's release.
Below are some of the teams with the best odds to sign Newton, according to sports books FanDuel, DraftKings and SportsLine. After trading quarterback Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears, the Jaguars are left with sophomore quarterback Gardner Minshew. Minshew played well during last season, throwing for 21 touchdowns and six interceptions, but the Jaguars may want to move in a different direction and sign a veteran quarterback like Newton.
