Where to see “Hocus Pocus,” “Hereditary” and other scary or family-friendly Halloween films in through Oct. 31
Fans watch the climax of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” at a midnight showing at the Carmike 14 theater in Tyler, Texas, on Friday morning, July 15, 2011. The film is among the local options for spooky film screenings this Halloween season. Halloween season is not just about cute costumes and candy, it’s a time for horror fans to join together to scream and cringe with a bucket of popcorn.
As part of its Kids Series, Cinépolis theaters in Vista, Del Mar and Carlsbad will show the original, “Casper” on Oct. 26. Reading Cinemas is presenting a “Horror-Fest” with showings of “Halloween” on Oct. 23 and “Psycho” on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31. The La Mesa location will screen “The Shining” on Oct. 28.
