Prepare for New Jersey's plastic bag ban by shopping at these stores for reusable bags
It’s time to buy reusable shopping bags as the state begins to phase out lightweight plastic and paper bags from large grocery stores.
While many New Jerseyans might want to stock up on plastic bags for shopping and other uses, including lining trash bins and discarding pet waste,“Consider using paper, biodegradable, compostable, plant-based bags, or just fewer bags by using washable garbage receptacles,” Sandra Suarez, biology professor at Ramapo College and director of the school’s Upward Bound Math Science program, told NJ Advance Media.
