ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The disappearance of an Eagle River man almost a year ago is still leaving his friends questioning what happened.He was last seen on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in the 1600 block of Eleonora Street in Eagle River .
Neighbors said Sternhagen was not on good terms with Kronos. Authorities have not said why Sternhagen’s home was searched or what they may have found. The Anchorage Police Department told Alaska’s News Source in its latest correspondence that Sternhagen was still employed by the department and the investigation was still ongoing. The 40-year-old Kronos, who had his name legally changed from Joshua Kronbach to Tony Kronos, was reported to be in a good place in life. In March of last year, his sister said he had recently bought land in Hawaii.″Things were good. He had just bought land in Hawaii, and so I was kind of telling him, ‘I’m proud of you, I love you, this is awesome to see you living your life,’" Stamnes said about their last conversation. “And he was good. And he was going to work, and just life, just catching up with his sibling.” Neighbors of Kronos on Eleonora Street in Eagle River said he was a quiet man who lived in a tidy black house. They say when it was sunny out, he’d often sit in the sunshine in a hammock in the backyard. Recently, though, there had been some complaints about Kronos. Neighbors — who wouldn’t talk to Alaska’s News Source on camera because of concerns about safety — said Kronos had recently started playing loud music at night and the police had to be called. “Yeah, he wasn’t too pleased with the neighbor behind him, but he had great relationships with everyone else around him,” Stamnes said. Neighbors say Kronos was often seen clearing snow from his front driveway or coming home from the gym.Another neighbor called Kronos’ father, who then reported him missing to police. “We’ve driven by. My parents have been there.
