Penn State is the third-highest ranked Big Ten team behind No. 1 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan. The Buckeyes earned the No. 1 ranking thanks to two top-tier wins over Penn State and No. 15 Notre Dame. The Wolverines do not have a ranked win but are undefeated with a 325-47 margin of victory. Unlike those teams, the Nittany Lions do not have a win over a currently ranked opponent on their resume. Oregon beat Utah, Texas beat Alabama and Kansas, the Crimson Tide beat Ole Miss and Tennessee, Oklahoma beat Texas, and the Rebels beat LSU and Tulane.
