Jeanne du Barry, originally titled La Favorite, is a biographical period drama that follows Johnny Depp's King Louis XV, who falls in love with Jeanne, a working-class courtesan played by Maïwenn.
While speculation about his return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise continues, the actor will appear next in Jeanne du Barry, where he'll play the 2023 film's male lead. Though it's obviously not a project on the same level as his Pirates of the Caribbean movies, it being his comeback film makes it a highly anticipated movie.
