So, when can eligible candidates expect those checks to come through? The Social Security Administration follows a specific schedule related to a person's birthday and the type of benefit they receive. Here's what you need to know about Social Security payment dates for July 2025, straight from the administration’s calendar. How do I know if I’m eligible for Social Security payments? Most jobs will automatically take out Social Security taxes from employees' paychecks, which is used to pay out monthly benefits for those eligible to receive Social Security payments. Here are the requirements to receive monthly Social Security benefits for retirement, according to the SSA: 62 years of age or older.Social Security taxes have been paid for 10 years or more through employment. If you haven’t paid into Social Security for 10 years or more, the SSA may check whether your current or former spouse’s work makes you eligible for a monthly payment, if you qualify. You may also be eligible to receive Social Security benefits through having a disability, a late relative or spouse who worked and paid Social Security taxes and/or a family member who qualifies for Social Security payments. When are Social Security payments going out for July 2025? The SSA’s official schedule of Social Security benefit payments for July 2025, will be paid on the following days based on birthdate: July 9: If you’re born between day 1–10 of any given month.July 16: If you’re born between day 11–20 of any given month.July 23: If you’re born between day 21–31 of any given month. When will Social Security checks for the rest of 2025 be sent out? Similar to the aforementioned, the Social Security payment schedule for 2025 is based on your date of birth. Birthdays between day 1-10 of each month: Payments will be paid on the second Wednesday of every month. Birthdays between day 11-20 of each month: Payments will be paid on the third Wednesday of every month.Birthdays between day 21-31: Payments will be paid on the fourth Wednesday of each month. If you received Social Security payments before May 1997, you will receive your benefits on day 3 of the month. What are Supplemental Security Income benefits — and when are those payments going out? Supplemental Security Income is a federal program that the Social Security Administration oversees. Qualification is based whether a person checks the boxes of all of the following: Little or no income Little or no resources A disability, blindness or being aged 65 or older SSI payments are usually issued on the first day of each month, unless that date falls on the weekend. Since July 1, 2025, falls on a Tuesday, the payment will be made on July 1 as scheduled. What happens if I don’t receive Social Security and/or SSI payments on time? If the date for receiving your Social Security or SSI payments has come and gone with no results, the SSA advises waiting “three additional mailing days before contacting Social Security.”
