Airport officials in Bermuda say a plane had to make an unscheduled stop in the island country, thanks to a number of 'guests' that were in the plane's cargo hold.

We've often heard of the term "when pigs fly," and it is used as a way to say that something will never happen. However, this particular incident did actually happen, and also managed to affect people's travel plans.According to the Instagram page of Bermuda Skyport, which is the operator of Bermuda's international airport, a flight was carrying pigs in its cargo when the plane had to take a detour to the island nation.

"Not the Christmas vacation anyone planned, but definitely one for the history books for us!"Per an official statement we received from airport officials, KLM flight 685 had 100 pigs in the cargo hold when it was flying from Amsterdam to Mexico City on Dec. 14. There were 259 passengers and crew members onboard, and all were processed through immigration and placed at area hotels.KLM is the commonly-used abbreviation for Royal Dutch Airlines, which is the Netherlands' flag carrier.
