The 20-year-old figure skater from California debuted at her first Olympics in 2022 in Beijing. At just 16 years old at the time, she stunned the skating world by retiring from the sport. “I started when I was 5 and I basically didn't stop until 16, and I was homeschooled my whole life,” Liu explained to NBC News about her decision to retire. “And I'm a very social person. I crave human connection.
