Chances are rising for a large amount of tropical moisture in South Texas by the middle of the week. Here's a timeline of what to expect.
Confidence is increasing that a significant wave of tropical moisture will move into South Texas by the middle of the week, bringing flooding rainfall to many areas. Projected rainfall totals in San Antonio are trending upward, signaling a potential high-impact heavy rain event for the Alamo City . The moisture is due to a developing low pressure system in the western Gulf of Mexico.
Wednesday: This is when the largest wave of tropical moisture is expected to move into South Texas, resulting in high rain chances. Parts of South Texas will see several hours of continuous heavy rain from the afternoon through the night. The rainfall will cause afternoon temperatures to be much cooler, hovering in the upper 70s to the low 80s. There is still a good deal of uncertainty about how much rainfall San Antonio will see.
