is delighted to share photos from the Watford Museum archive and this week's photo takes close inspection to work out which direction it’s facing.

The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “This congested traffic scene is from the early 1960s and, looks from the town hall roundabout towards Hempstead Road. "This is a carnival day, I understand the traffic levels like this were very common on such days. The view is a little difficult to identify as the usual landmarks are obscured, but the wall on the left is the one next to the Horns. On the right is the library but hidden from view. In the middle on one of the lamp posts is a sign pointing to the “Baths”. This image is part of the Museum’s Bob Nunn Collection.”Watford Museum is open Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
