Alabama defeated Mississippi State in Starkville on Saturday night.
Everything Mississippi State head coach Zach Arnett said after the Bulldogs lost to Alabama 40-17 on Saturday night.
We play the guys we have available, that's our job as coaches. We've got to give them an opportunity and the best chance to be successful so we play the guys we have available. We gave up a long touchdown drive. I can't remember if we gave up a third and long conversion on that particular drive but you're not going to beat a whole lot of good football teams when you give up a touchdown and then you have an opportunity for a two minute drill and you throw an interception on the first play and give them a short field. Poor job of game management by the head coach. Should have took a knee. Went into half.
Turnovers are critical in this game. Turnovers are gigantic momentum shifting plays. I don't know if the punt got ruled a fumble or not there but they said they came away with it at the bottom of the pile. Obviously, you know, their guy kicked a phenomenal punt and it checked up at the one so out first drive started at the one-yard line that's not obviously ideal. So backed up tight pump was good. We got to a decent punt. Great coverage by the guys, they hit him. I think it was a fumble.
