What Yankees’ Jasson Dominguez did to keep ego in check during quick path to big leagues

The Yankees and Astros begin a weekend series on Friday night at Minute Maid Park.

“To be honest, I haven’t really paid too much attention too much attention to all the comments and all the information about me,” Dominguez said in Spanish with Yankees interpreter Marlon Abreu translating to English. “I’m not watching social media. I’m not reading a lot of the different articles that are written.

The Yankees called up three rookies on Friday, Dominguez plus catcher Austin Wells and pitcher Randy Vasquez. Dominguez had a bunch of family fly in from the Dominican Republic for his debut — his parents, aunts and uncles, cousins, etc.
