At the illumination show, people took photos and videos as kids continued to run through the swirling jets of water while songs including “My Girl” by The Temptations, “Dancing Queen” by ABBA and “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash played.A child plays in the Nancy Best Fountain at Klyde Warren Park on Sept. 14, 2022.

The fountain’s many features include a 5,000-square-foot splash pad that can accommodate hundreds of children at a time, and a design inspired by the park itself, featuring three 15-foot stainless steel trees, 14 rosebud-shaped bubblers, and 106 small nozzles simulating leaves. The fountain’s lights are expected to become a part of Dallas’ iconic skyline, especially for airplanes flying above it during the show.
