What we saw from Auburn’s offense during Saturday’s scrimmage

A few observations on the Auburn offense from Saturday morning’s scrimmage in Jordan-Hare Stadium

Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football team took to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday morning for the first “live scrimmage” of fall camp.

While the often-talked-about freshmen duo in Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson both showed impressive flashes, it was Bryce Cain and Malcolm Simmons who both stood out on Saturday. Still, Thompson collected a 65-yard bomb from Hank Brown, while Coleman also climbed the ladder for a few catches, including one really nice grab that was ruled out of bounds.To no ones surprise, Payton Thorne was the first quarterback to jog out onto the field on Saturday and hit Georgia State transfer receiver Robert Lewis for a quick 7-yard gain.

The initial pecking order of the quarterbacks was Thorne, Geriner, Walker White, Thorne again and then Brown.
