Charis Sharp, a 21-year-old psychology student living in Hawaii, moved from Texas in the summer of 2020 for school. This TDOV feels more important and more special to her than previous years, she said.

“This day … is to celebrate and to find joy in that, we’re still here, we’re still fighting,” she said. This year, Sharp is also carrying an “almost overwhelming” amount of stress for transgender youth in Texas.
