Jackson, the film explores the history of racism in the United States through Baldwin's reminiscences of civil rights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr., as well as his personal observations of American history.was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 89th Academy Awards and won the BAFTA Award for Best Documentary.
Directed by Göran Olsson, this 2011 documentary is made up of interview footage discovered by filmmakers in the cellar of Swedish Television nearly 30 years after it was filmed. It examines the evolution of the Black Power movement in American society in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with interviews and appearances from major figures of the movements like Angela Davis, Stokely Carmichael, Bobby Seale, Eldridge Cleaver and Huey P.
