Pava LaPere, 26, was found dead with signs of blunt force trauma Monday morning. Police are on the hunt for a convicted sex offender they say is armed and dangerous.
The death of Pava LePere, the CEO and founder of EcoMap Technologies, is being investigated as a homicide, and police said they had issued an arrest warrant for Jason Dean Billingsley, 32, on first-degree murder and additional charges.
LaPere, 26, was found dead around 11:30 a.m. Monday at a Baltimore apartment building with signs of blunt force trauma, police said. LaPere's family said in a statement to NBC News the 26-year-old was"an inspiration to so many people." In 2015, Billingsley pleaded guilty to a first-degree sex offense and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with 16 years suspended, according toBillingsley was released from prison in October 2022, according to the Maryland sex offender registry.
