In this case, I suggested “direct advocacy for the Harris campaign” to replace “endorsement of the Harris campaign,” which captures the deceitful nature of the ads without the possibility of being confused for an even more deceitful implication. This language was adopted in our In our rush to share this story with the world, we made some missteps in our internal processes, and feedback from some team members was lost in the shuffle when it otherwise wouldn’t have been. But overall, we were successful in bringing attention to what we see as media malpractice.One of the most critical things I’ve learned as a journalism student is that there are multiple perspectives and layers in every story.
