After initially delayed due to the pandemic, the reboot of the beloved teen drama “Gossip Girl” is making its debut next month on HBO Max.
The reboot takes place nine years after the original show ended and follows a new crop of teenagers who are dealing with the reemergence of the anonymous blog as social media plays a larger role in their lives. The original show was one of the most popular — and fashionable — series in the late Aughts and early 2010s, with then-up-and-coming actresses Leighton Meester and Blake Lively starting their careers with their iconic roles as Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodson, respectively.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Daman stated he looked to influencers, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber and the streets of East Village for inspiration to curate the over 200 costumes for each episode. He also stated that the reboot’s costumes will at times pay homage to the style of the original show.The reboot includes 10 hourlong episodes.The “Gossip Girl” reboot will be available to stream on HBO Max. The original “Gossip Girl” series is also available to stream through HBO Max.
