Rogers took a hit in the fourth quarter of last week’s 38-31 loss to No. 24 Illinois and was knocked out of the game with an undisclosed injury. Earlier this week, Schiano said Rogers was “okay for the fans who were concerned” but did not elaborate on the specifics of his injury or whether he would be available for the postseason.
In an interesting turn of events, Rutgers previously announced a season-ending injury to senior Tyler Needham but left the door open for the right tackle’s return Saturday, listing him as questionable. Needham was hit awkwardly in his right knee by a Minnesota defender three weeks ago when the Scarlet Knights downed the Golden Gophers, 26-19. He has not played since.
