The office of the Public Protector is seeking more powers to be able to enforce its recommended remedial action.
Last week, acting Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka disclosed statistics at the National Press Club which show how, in most cases , the remedial action recommended by her office is not heeded. Only 13% of the actions are implemented, 13% are partially implemented and 8% are taken on review in court.
