The new Texas Rangers City Connect logo on a hoodie, inspired by the Dallas Eagles and the Fort Worth Panthers/Cats, at Globe Life Field on Monday, April 17, 2023 in Arlington, Texas., the Rangers didn’t stop at colors and typography. They took it a step further and created a new mascot — the “Peagle.”
The winged panther is a very Griffin-like mythical creature that combines the logos of the Dallas Eagles and the Fort Worth Cats, originally known as the Panthers. It will be featured on the right sleeve patch of the players’ uniforms, but figure more prominently in merchandise availableis steeped in Dallas-Fort Worth baseball history and tradition. The typography on the left chest in “speed red” is inspired by the Fort Worth Panthers’ 1920 championship medal, according to a news release about the uniforms. The Panthers won six consecutive Texas League titles in the 1920s.
