Queen was joined by senior royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony today in front of tens of thousands of cheering Britons on the Mall, as her historic Platinum Jubilee celebrations began. Lip reader Juliet Sullivan, who watched the balcony footage reveals the conversations that took place between the senior royals and the Queen while they watched the six-minute flypast at 1pm on Thursday.
Prince Charles and the Queen discussed the best place to stand to get the best view, while Prince George marvelled at how big the jets were to his father Prince William. The Queen and Prince Louis shared a tender moment, discussing the smoke that was omitted from the aircraft. The monarch told the little boy at the end of the display: 'Let’s go, it’s finished now'.
