Washington attended Dallas Mavericks Hoop Camp for kids and talked about the Mavs’ blockbuster acquisition, the team’s championship hopes and more.
Dallas Mavericks forward and center PJ Washington drives on a layup to the excitement of summer Hoop campers. Hoop Camp is one of several summer camps for youngsters providing a variety of interests. Mavs Academy hosted the event which was sponsored by Chick-fil-A DFW. The basketball camp was held at Collin County Community College in Plano on July 23, 2024.
“As a kid, you go to camps and they always tell you that not a lot of people make it. But for me, I was the kid that was like, ‘Well, I’m making it,’” he said. “That’s my only goal in life is to be here, and that’s how I looked at things, and obviously it got me here.”Tori Garcia , Sports Intern.
