Ohio State has another five-star quarterback headed for Columbus.
Brady Edmunds, a talented signal-caller from Huntington Beach, California, announced on Monday that he has pledged to the Buckeyes after yet another weekend visit to Columbus to see the loss against Michigan.

He’s the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback, per the 247Sports composite rankings, and stands at 6-foot-5. He’s got a live arm, and though he’s just a sophomore in high school, the talent is evident. That’s what Ohio State likes so much about Edmunds: He’s still got two more seasons of high school football left to play, and the talent level is assuredly going to improve. Purely from a football sense, adding Edmunds is a great addition. He camped at Ohio State this past summer and impressed, clearly.As it relates to the 2027 class, Edmunds is the second-five star addition after five-star receiver Jamier Brown — an Ohioan who committed to wide receivers coach Brian Hartline. Ohio State’s class now has two players, but both are five-star pledges. Moving forward, having a base of two five-star prospects already in the fold just over two years before they can actually sign a Letter of Intent is a great benefit to the Ohio State coaching staff. Those are two class pillars, and considering the history of both, it’s great news to have them in the mix. Ohio State also does not have a 2026 quarterback committed at the moment. With five-star Tavien St. Clair in the 2025 class, and five-star Julian Sayin from the 2024 class, that would make three out of four years for the Buckeyes that they’ve brought in a five-star quarterback commit. Those type of recruits are elite additions to any program, and it guarantees the Buckeyes have a high-level of quarterback talent continually streaming in.Edmunds pledged to the Buckeyes while knowing that the 2024 season still has to finish, then the 2025 and 2026 seasons have to complete. In coaching years, especially after four-straight losses to Michigan, that’s an eternity. His commitment is certainly a commitment to not only Ohio State, but the belief that Day will still have things rolling by the time he gets to campus. Ohio State’s offensive talent is remarkable, and that’s something Edmunds found enticing enough to pledge to the Buckeyes.
