Long before Star Wars: Episode I, Obi-Wan Kenobi almost left the Jedi Order to become a Mandalorian and marry Duchess Satine Kryze on Mandalore.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is often seen as the epitome of the Jedi in Star Wars, but even though he exemplifies the Jedi ideals, he had a moment of crisis long before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace where he almost walked away from the Order. As a Padawan, Obi-Wan accompanied his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, on an extended mission to Mandalore.

Despite Anakin being left masterless, Obi-Wan’s new Mandalorian connection may give him the happy life he’d always dreamed of, though his marriage to Satine would come at the cost of giving up on the Jedi. Without completing his Jedi training with Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan would likely be a lot less powerful with the Force and not nearly as skilled with a lightsaber.

Dooku Would Try To Break Up Obi-Wan And Satine The Clone Wars would put enormous strain on Obi-Wan and Satine’s marriage, as they have extremely different ideals. Satine is a pacifist who wishes to remain neutral in any sort of conflict, whereas Obi-Wan—in his heart—serves the Republic. Though he gave up his position as a Jedi peacekeeper to be with Satine, it’s hard to imagine him standing idly by as the Separatists wreak havoc on the Republic.
