What ever happened to the San Antonio Silver Stars ? That question seemed to be on the minds of some WNBA fans this week as the league revealed its plans to add more franchises in the coming years. Hoping to capitalize on women’s basketball’s swelling popularity, WNBA commissioner Caty Engelbert told reporters on Monday that the league hopes to expand from 13 teams in 2025, when the NBA’s Golden State Warriors launch a new team, to 16 by 2028.
