Based on the monitoring of the Department of Agriculture , the price of red and yellow onions sold in Metro Manila wet markets ranged from P550 to P700 per kilo as of January 2. The price of red onions averaged P625 per kilo, while the average price of white onions reached P650 per kilo in Metro Manila. The most expensive red onions are in the Marikina Public Market, where they were being sold for as much as P700 per kilo.
